WHAT IT IS
​
A thousand kilometers of mountains, back roads, and interconnected trails, crossed on a child-sized motorcycle, in seven days, with no support crew. Teams set their own pace, choose their own roads, and find their own way around the loop. It is colossally stupid, genuinely dangerous, and the best week of the year. Three Great American Monkey 1000s are in the books. The next one is yours.
The Shape of the Week
You arrive, you pitch camp, and there is a launch party to confirm you and your steed are in peak riding condition. One of you will be.
Seven days of riding, by whatever roads and trails you choose. Nobody leads. Nobody sweeps. The loop is the assignment; the route is your problem.
One named camp, every night. The whole field lands in the same place after dark, and that is where the stories get told badly the first time.
The finish line, the celebration, the Banana Cup, and a badge among the rarest honors in the Guild.
No Support Crew. Just Brothers.
When the trail wins, you get off and push.
