Participants are responsible for all other expenses and travel costs including visa and other fees.
RIDER REQUIREMENTS: The Adventureman's Guild will not be responsible for any legal requirements needed for operating a motorcycle on US roadways or off-road trail systems imposed on you by your home country, state, or the state of Michigan. It is in your best interest to make sure you are in compliance with any laws that apply. With that, we are giving participants the following recommendations.
Participants must have a valid driver's license and motorcycle endorsement.
Participants are encouraged to have proper insurance and register/plate their motorcycles in accordance with their home state's laws and in compliance with the state of Michigan.
Participants are encouraged to have any necessary off-road permits required by the state of Michigan.
Participants are encouraged to provide and wear a DOT-approved helmet.
Participants are responsible for making their own arrangements for the transportation of their Monkey Bike to and from the start/finish staging area.
MONKEY BIKE REQUIREMENTS: Participants are required to operate motorbikes that do not exceed the capability, reliability, and manufacturing quality of our inferior and substandard Monkey Bikes. If you have already participated in the Great American monkey 1000 then you're in luck. You know all too well what to expect from your steed. Must be either a Chinese clone or vintage original
CT70 Dax or Z50 Monkey/Gorilla body styles only
Engines may not exceed 125 cc
Engines must be carbureted
Bottom line no brand new designed pit bikes or fresh off the assembly line Honda monkey bikes with fuel injection and ABS brakes. You're better than that!
CANCELLATION POLICY: No refunds will be provided for any reason for unused portion of an event, tour, or training once the event, tour, or training begins, including if you leave an event, tour, or training for any reason or have to be removed from an event, tour, or training. ? The event, tour, or training price is a package cost and refunds and credits are not available for services not used. There are no exceptions to this cancellation and refund policy, including for reasons related to weather, terrorism, civil strife, governmental, personal, family or medical emergencies or any other circumstances beyond our control. For this and other reasons, we encourage you to purchase trip cancellation and interruption insurance and travel protection (i.e., travel medical insurance and emergency evacuation services). There will be no refunds for tardiness. If you show up late and miss part of your event, tour, or training we will help you in a reasonable way so you might receive the services booked for the remaining duration. The Adventureman's Guild strongly recommends that you take out adequate trip cancellation insurance. The Adventureman's Guild is not responsible for expenses incurred by participants in preparing for an event, tour, or training (eg. nonrefundable advance purchase air tickets, equipment, etc.) or for any additional arrangements pre- or post-departure date. The term applies whether the tour is altered, modified, or canceled by us or by you for any reason. Because the event, tour, or training may be canceled when a minimum number of participants have not signed up, we recommend that you either purchase refundable air tickets or wait until we have confirmed with you prior to the event, tour, or training that we have a sufficient number of participants.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RISK: Adventure travel includes some level of physical exertion and some degree of risk or danger, perceived or real. This is truly dangerous and you cannot overestimate the risks involved in taking part in this event. This is an adventure and not a vacation. You are on your own and are putting your health and life at risk. You could be seriously injured or die as a result of participating and Individuals who have taken part in events like this have been permanently disfigured, seriously disabled and even lost their life.
TRAVEL INSURANCE: The Adventureman's Guild does not assume responsibility, directly or indirectly, for any loss, damage, or injury to property or person. We strongly recommend that you purchase adequate travel insurance including Medical, Evacuation and Repatriation coverage and that you extend your coverage to include Trip Cancellation. Be sure your travel insurance covers you for exactly what you are doing and exactly where you are going.
